The Residence â€“ Auberge de CloÃ®tre - is ideally located in Gy, in the heart of Burgundy only 57 kms from the Burgundy capital of Beaune and, just 70 km east of Dijon, and 200 kilometres from Basel or Geneva, Switzerland and belongs to the department Haute-SaÃ´ne, in South eastern France. On a large-scale map you will find the village of Gy west of Basel and north of Geneva. You can access Gy by travelling by Air to Geneva or Basel and then travel an estimated 2 hours by car. Another option is to travel by excellent speed train â€“ TGV:s â€“ that takes you from Paris or Marseille to Dijon. The Burgundy area is renowned as Franceâ€™s richest province â€“ historically, culturally, gastronomically and economically. Today, with the low-cost carriers you can travel from Britain, Scandinavia in a matter of hours at a very reasonable price. Some even realize their dreams of establishing themselves with their family in the destination of their choice and commute to any bigger city for work.
There is a lot to do and see within a couple of hours' drive, beginning with the famous Burgundy where the world famous wines are produced, and within a two hours drive you will be in the mountains. The TGV (Train Grand Vitesse) will take you to Marseille and the Mediterranean in a couple of hours. But actually, you do not need to travel anywhere since you have a lot of activities in the beautiful and unique nature of the region. For those who plays golf there are plenty of opportunities and Evian Golf course is only 2 hours away. There is something for everyone and everything.

The residence is centrally located next to the church in the Village of Gy, It was extensively renovated between 1991-1995. It is built so that it fits various purposes; it serves as a Residential Property, or as an excellent Conference Centre and why not as a Bed&Breakfast. It also offers the possibility to convert the residence into independent flats.
It has 3 floors and a ground area of approximately 240 m2m. Total living area is estimated to 520 m2. In addition the basement area is an estimated 130 m2.
During the massive renovation, the house was virtually newly built. The original house had a ground floor and a smaller first floor. The present building was constructed using only the walls from the original house and adding a new first and second floor and a new roof. Where possible, part of the old exterior was reused.
